MOA GET 40 MILLION TO HELP POOR RUN AZAM TANI PROJECT
The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry gives RM40 million cheque for the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry (MOA) to help 2,091 hardcore poor low income households carry out the Azam Tani project.
RM40 Million To Help Hardcore Poor Under Azam Tani Project
PUTRAJAYA, July 22 (Bernama) — The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry today presented a cheque for RM40 million to the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry (MOA) to carry out the Azam Tani project, which aims to improve the livelihood of low income households through agriculture.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said the ministry’s e-Kasih system had identified 2,091 heads of poor households throughout Peninsular Malaysia who were eligible to take part.
“MOA was selected to champion this project because the ministry has the experience and expertise to manage it,” she told reporters after handing the cheque to Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar, here Thursday.
Shahrizat said with the project, all 2,091 families were expected to move out from the hardcore poverty list by year-end.
