MV Agusta have let loose with the next iteration of the gorgeous F4, the 2012-spec F4 RR, and its calling card is that its 998cc inline-four now produces all of 201 horsepower at 13,400rpm, pushing the bike to a top speed of 297.6km/h.
Using a shorter-stroke Corsacorta motor, MV Agusta has been able to coax more top-end speed and power from the iconic F4 design. Expected to go on sale in Italy later this month, the F4 RR is carrying with it roughly a 20% premium over the base 2012 MV Agusta F4 RR price, and will cost €22,900 in that market.

2012 MV Agusta F4 RR Corsacorta  (short stroke) engine features new cylinder heads, large-diameter intake and exhaust valves made of titanium, and lightweight forged pistons made of ‘aerospace’ alloy. Other new bits include a redesigned exhaust system, close-ratio gearbox, fully adjustable 43mm USD Öhlins fork, fully adjustable Öhlins TTX 36 rear shock, Öhlins steering damper and 17-inch forged aluminium wheels shod with 120/70 (front) and 190/55 (rear) ZR-rated rubber.

According to MV, the F4 RR’s engine is all new and shares very few components with the earlier F4’s engine. ‘It has been completely redesigned with a single goal in mind – maximum performance,’ says a press note from MV. However, as with previous F4s, this new engine also features a removable six-speed cassette-type gearbox, and the clutch employs a mechanical slipper system for improved control under even the most extreme braking conditions.

The Corsacorta 50.9mm short stroke with oversquare bore at 79.0mm engine has pushed the power to 200hp (real conversion from 147.7kW is actually 198hp) up from 180hp of the original F4 version. This F4 RR Corsacorta comes with new colour that is matt pearl white which is in my humble opinion, the perfect colour for this 200hp machine.
