Petronas Dagangan To Unveil New F1 Tech-Inspired Fuel

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 (Bernama) — Petronas Dagangan Bhd, the largest petroleum products marketer in the country with 43 per cent market share, will unveil its new F1 tech-inspired fuel this Saturday.

Its managing director/chief executive officer, Amir Hamzah Azizan said the new breakthrough product for commercial engines was a testimony of Petronas’ investment in developing high quality fuel.

“The launch of a new product will help us stimulate market capture in order to take over Shell in the retail market in the next two to three years,” he told reporters at the “Petronas Road To Rewards” grand prize giving ceremony, here Tuesday.

Amir Hamzah said Petronas Dagangan has also allocated RM350 million as capital expenditure for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2011 to continue to expand its retail operations.

The company would also continue to develop more reward-based programmes that will enable loyal customers to enjoy the privileges of being a customer.

It currently has two million members for its Petronas Mesra card loyalty programme of which 1.6 million are active members.

During the event, Amir Hamzah presented prizes to thirty Petronas customers who were the lucky ones out of four million motorists who had participated in the three month promotion which ended on February 15.

The first three grand prize winners took home RM100,000 each, the next 12 grand prize winners pocketed RM20,000 and another 15 won RM10,000 each.

A total of 7,940 customers who made minimum purchases of RM30 had benefited from the campaign, Amir Hamzah said.

Two years in the making, the Euro 2M-rated fuel features an advanced multifunctional additive package, headed by a robust mix of advanced combustion improvers and friction modifiers to deliver efficient combustion and reduce internal friction, resulting in maximum work achieved for every drop of fuel burned. Besides the usual demulsifier and anti-corrosion bits, there’s a new synthetic detergent as part of the package to provide a superior cleaning edge and maintain engine cleanliness for optimum performance. Which makes the Xtra great value for the consumer, given the higher costs in having such a comprehensive additive package in the product (the additive package offers around 10% improvement in fuel economy over a base fuel).
