Sony Ericsson offer its slimmest Xperia smartphone, the Xperia arc, which is only 8.7mm thick. Sony Xperia arc price is at RM 2,099 feature a big quality screen, awesome 8 megapixel camera and HD camcorder, the latest Android.  The Arc is Sony Ericsson’s first Gingerbread droid, the first to have the new Reality display and Sony’s new Exmor R camera sensor.

Maxis customers will be the first to exclusively enjoy the Xperia arc for one month period from 6 April onwards. The MAXIS Xperia arc will be available at Maxis Centres, selected Maxis Exclusive Partners nationwide and also at all Sony Ericsson Exclusive Stores and selected Sony Style stores from 6 April 2011 at a recommended retail price of RM2,099. However, Maxis subscribers can get the smartphone for RM1,499 with a 24-month contract, RM1,749 with a 12-month contract and RM1,599 with an 18-month contract. Maxis customers will need to sign up for a Maxis Value Plans (Value Plus 50, 80, 150, 250 or 500) and a data bundle (500MB, 1.5GB or 3GB).

Powered by the latest Google Android 2.3 operating system (Gingerbread) for smartphones, the Xperia arc gives consumers access to the worlds of both Android and Sony in one device. The 4.2-inch multi-touch display is powered with the Reality Display with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine.

while the 8MP camera has Sony´s Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor to ensures great pictures even in low light, while the visual brilliance created through the Reality Display of Mobile BRAVIA engine makes images appear at least 33 percent brighter than on a traditional display.

Additionally, with a built-in HDMI-connector, users can simply plug in the HDMI cable to their TV to view their photos, videos and even play games in HD. The phone package will include a HDMI cable along with an in-car charger, an 8GB memory card, a screen protector and the Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset (Hi-Fi Wireless Headset with FM Radio MW600) that is worth RM429. The Xperia arc is available in two colors: Midnight Blue and Misty Silver.
The company’s slimmest smartphone is easily the most beautiful to date. The phone looks so good we’re wiling to forgive some of the design choices that were probably forced on the team: the lens and shutter key placement, the non-hot-swappable memory card slot or the lack of auto brightness control.
Probably the only place it falls short is not being quite as future proofed as a proper flagship should be. It will be a while before dual-core phones start hitting real hard but when they do, the Arc will be vulnerable
