KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 (Bernama) — The Coca-Cola Company, the world’s largest beverage company, officially launched its newest product in Malaysia, Minute Maid Pulpy fruit drink — reputed to be among the world’s top fruit and vegetable juice brand.
“The introduction of Minute Maid Pulpy in Malaysia is just the start of the exciting new beverages under The Coca-Cola Company’s strong global portfolio,” said Coca-Cola Bottlers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd’s General Manager Vamsi Mohan after the launch of the fruit drink.
He said: “Our research showed consumers chose Minute Maid Pulpy over the leading juice brands in Malaysia because of the balance of sweet-sour taste and the pulp.”
“We are confident it will do as well as it has in other countries where it is available,” he said.
The fruit drink is now sold in over 100 countries and is the No. 1 drink in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
KUALA LUMPUR: Where is the pulp? That is the big question that many Malaysians ask with a fruit drink in hand.
According to Coca Cola Malaysia’s research, Malaysians love the feel of pulp swishing in their mouths when they take fruit drinks.
To cater to the local palette and Malaysians’ penchant for pulp, the Coca-Cola company has introduced Minute Maid Pulpy.
At the launch of the new beverage at the Dragonfly Club last Friday, general manager of Coca-Cola Bottlers (Malaysia Sdn Bhd) Vamsi Mohan said Minute Maid Pulpy had real orange pulp in it.
Minute Maid Pulpy made its official debut in Malaysia with its Orange and Tropical Mixed Fruit drink, available in 350ml and 1litre bottles.
“It is expected to retail in supermarkets and hypermarkets at around RM2.20 for the 350ml bottle, and below RM5 for the 1litre bottle.
“Give the bottle a good shake before drinking,” Mohan said.
Minute Maid Pulpy Orange is made from orange juice concentrate and pulp from the US and Brazil, two major orange growing regions in the world. It has added vitamin C, said Coca-Cola Marketing Manager, Singapore and Malaysia Jasmin Vinculado.
She said the Tropical Mixed Fruit drink had different types of fruit such as orange, apple, pineapple, mango, guava and passion fruit as well as real orange pulp.
“Minute Maid Pulpy is number one in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The company will be offering free samples of the drink nationwide over the next 12 months,” she said.
“The introduction of Minute Maid Pulpy in Malaysia is the start of exciting new beverages under the Coca-Cola Company’s global portfolio which we will be bringing in to refresh Malaysian consumers,” said Mohan.
“Prior to the launch, our research showed consumers chose Minute Maid Pulpy over other leading juice brands in Malaysia for its fresh, natural and unique taste. Consumers like the balance of sweet and sour and the pulp. We are confident that it will do as well as it has in other countries where it is available,” said Mohan.
