ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit is the most recent addition to the ZESPRI® Kiwifruit family and differs from it’s GREEN cousin in that it has a smooth hairless skin that is bronze in colour, a golden flesh interior, and a white core with black seeds.

Taste-wise, ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit has a sweet, uniquely tropical taste with a luscious, silky and very juicy texture that makes it a real children favourite and adults. Similar to ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit contains many of the same vitamins and minerals as ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, but with slightly higher levels of vitamin E and folate.

2 large ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit
2 large ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
½ cup (125 ml) orange juice
¾ cup raspberries

how to make smoothie Directions
1. Peel and slice the ZESPRI® GREEN and GOLD Kiwifruit
2. Place the ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit in a food processor or blender with 1 – 2 tablespoons of orange juice
3. Process until just smooth, taking care not to crush the seeds. Pour into one or two long glasses
4. Place the ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit into a clean food processor or blender with 3 – 4 tablespoons of orange juice and purée, until just smooth
5. Carefully pour the purée over the back of a spoon onto the top of the green purée
6. Purée the raspberries with 2 tablespoons of orange juice, until just smooth. Pour over the back of a spoon onto the top of the gold purée. There should be three distinct layers. Serve immediately

1. Kiwifruit are the nutrition powerhouse of fruit

2. Kiwifruit are rich in vitamin C

  Vitamin E

Folic Acid

ZESPRI, jenama buah kiwi popular dari New Zealand melancarkan kempen Extreme Nutrition, Extreme Vitality selama enam bulan bagi menyebarkan khasiat buah kiwi kepada masyarakat.

Syarikat yang berpangkalan di New Zealand yang mengeksport buah kiwi ke lebih 70 buah negara di seluruh dunia itu, telah melabur lebih RM25 juta dalam program saintifik yang turut menunjukkan kesan positif buah kiwi terhadap sistem penghadaman, meningkatkan sistem imun, memperbaiki kerosakan sel, masalah jantung dan interaksi dengan lain-lain makanan untuk meningkatkan status pemakanan.

Pantas menjadi makanan semula jadi terhebat sejak sedekad yang lalu, buah kiwi kaya dengan kebaikan untuk kesihatan. Ia mempunyai pelbagai nutrien yang boleh membantu mencegah penyakit, memberi tenaga dan menawarkan pilihan diet harian yang sesuai.

Penghidap diabetes

Buah kiwi mengandungi dua kali ganda vitamin C berbanding sebiji buah oren, dua kali ganda vitamin E yang didapati daripada buah avokado dan hanya setengah kalori.

Individu yang berwaspada dengan berat mereka atau penghidap diabetes pasti gembira apabila mengetahui bahawa buah kiwi mengandungi kadar Indeks Glisemik (GI) yang rendah tetapi mempunyai serat diet yang tinggi.

“Secara umum, buah kiwi baik dimakan secara mentah dan keseluruhan. Secara purata, buah kiwi menyediakan cadangan nilai harian (RDV) terhadap vitamin C sama seperti nutrien bermanfaat yang lain seperti folat, potasium dan zink, yang ia perlu untuk mengekalkan kesihatan,” tambah Drummond.

Terdapat dua jenis kiwi iaitu buah kiwi hijau dan kuning keemasan. Kedua-duanya mampu memberi kepuasan kepada pembeli. Lebih menarik, ia juga boleh dinikmati sebagai snek ringan.
