detroit 2009

This is the most welcome auto show that being waiting by most people as a opening to the new year 2009. for the slow economy in most countries, all car manufacture had been targeted to increase their r&d department to tackle the most problematic issue for the people transportation, petrol. this year had watching those manufacture had been strive to reveil their green car – electric car especially. they had been aim to produce alot of electric car and being environmental in 2010 around the world.

The Detroit Auto Show is open to the public until this Saturday (January 24th), so we think it’s worth doing a little recap of the green highlights. Transportation is an important sector when it comes both to pollution and making our lives better via personal mobility. The big goal is to try to get rid of the negatives while keeping the benefits. That’s a huge challenge, and we think the steps forward on display in Detroit are too small, but they’re still worth noting.

Auto show attendees can experience the latest in technology in a ride-and-drive format on a track built in Michigan Hall. NAIAS organizers have set aside 70,000 sq. ft. of floor space to feature this initiative in panoramic nature surroundings. Several automakers, including most notably Nissan and Mitsubishi, have decided to strike Detroit off their calendar altogether. Japanese heavyweights Honda and Toyota have also decided to show up and will play a my-hybrid’s-better-than-yours game — with the new Honda Insight Hybrid and the updated Toyota Prius vying for top green billing.
It’s too bad, too, because GM and Ford especially have several top-notch offerings planned for the show, including the new Ford Taurus and Buick LaCrosse. Happy to say, the Germans are coming. Audi has three world debuts, including the amazing V-10-powered Audi R8, and the BMW Z4 will make an appearance. Mercedes is bringing its critically important 2010 E-Class and BlueZero concepts, and VW has something in store as well. Other interesting debuts teased so far include the Volvo S60 and Subaru Legacy concepts, a high-powered Jag or two, and a new hybrid Lexus.
